It is with profound sorrow that I reflect on the sudden passing of my little cousin, whose life was taken far too soon. Just the day before, I had spoken with my cousin Terry Dorsey about a small issue with my car running hot. In a remarkable display of care and generosity, Terry stopped what he was doing to help me fix it. That morning, as we worked together, he, Prentice, and I began talking about his son, TJ. We laughed, shared stories, and celebrated TJ as a growing young man with so much potential.
The next day, learning of my little cousin’s death was utterly devastating. It is hard to reconcile the normal, joyful moments we shared with such a sudden and unimaginable loss. The grief is heavy, and the emptiness left behind is undeniable. These moments remind us how fragile life is and how important it is to cherish every connection we have with our loved ones.
During this incredibly difficult time, my thoughts and prayers are with Terry, his wife, and TJ’s mother.
